Q. 앨범 컨셉으로서 'Super One'이 전하는 메세지?

Baekhyun: The message for this album is based on hope and overcoming hardships together. Each individual teaser shows a struggle that is overcome so we can be happy as artists on stage. The message emphasizes that during difficult times, it’s important to reflect and identify what it is you’re good at and what you’re capable of, rather than dwelling. We came together as SuperM after spending time apart and you’ll notice that all the songs on the album convey a similar message. I think it’s great to be together again.

백현 : 이번 앨범의 메세지는 희망 그리고 함께 어려움을 이겨낸다는 겁니다. 각 티저는 아티스트로서 무대에서 행복해질 수 있게 역경을 극복해나가는 모습을 보여주는데요. 어려움을 겪고 있을 땐 제자리에 얽매여있기보다는 잘하는 분야나 강점이 무엇인지 심사숙고하고 가려내는 일이 중요하다고 강조하는 메세지입니다. 우린 각자 떨어져 지내다 슈퍼엠으로서 함께 모였고 앨범에 있는 모든 곡들은 비슷한 메세지를 전달합니다. 다시금 함께 모이게 돼서 좋아요.

 Kai: I think the biggest difference between promoting within our original groups versus within SuperM is the change in our roles. For me, I am one of the younger members in EXO, but in SuperM, I am suddenly a senior member with more experience. Taemin was also the youngest in his group, and Baekhyun has become a leader. [Laughs]

Baekhyun: [Shrugs] It just happened.

카이 :  가장 큰 차이점은 원래 그룹과 슈퍼엠 내에서의 역할 변화같아요. 저 같은 경우엔 엑소 내에서 어린 축에 속하는데 슈퍼엠에서는 갑자기 더 많은 경험을 해온 선배님이 됐어요. 태민도 마찬가지로 샤이니에서는 막내였고 백현은 리더가 됐네요. (웃음)

백현 : (어깨를 으쓱하며) 그렇게 된 겁니다.

Kai: Taeyong is also the leader in NCT 127, but in SuperM, he is one of the junior members. I think with changes like this, there is a shift in energy. It’s definitely enjoyable to experience different roles while working as SuperM and it’s a fresh atmosphere. It’s also helped us become closer a lot faster.

카이 : 태용이 또한 NCT 127에서는 리더인데 슈퍼엠에서는 동생 라인이죠. 이런 변화들로 에너지가 달라진다고 생각합니다. 슈퍼엠으로 활동하면서 다른 역할을 경험하는 건 확실히 즐거운 일입니다. 신선한 분위기라 덕분에 더 빠르게 친해질 수 있었습니다.

Mark: We wanted to express how even though we’re all individually talented and have distinct qualities, we can come together as one to create “Super One.” When we’re together, we’re able to overcome hardships. That’s the main message for the album and you’ll see that in all of the tracks, there is that common theme of hope. We hope our fans can receive that positive energy. For the tracks that we’ve performed but not officially released, our fans probably already know the songs, but it’ll be new for them to hear the studio versions, so I think they’ll definitely look forward to that. I remember the reactions to the new songs were positive when we were touring and they seemed to like them, so I can’t wait for them to hear the actual audio.

마크 : 우리는 모두 각자 다른 재능을 뽐내고 다른 특징을 갖고 있음에도 불구하고 '슈퍼 원'을 만들기 위해 하나될 수 있음을 표현하고 싶습니다. 우리가 함께할 때, 우린 어려움을 이겨낼 수 있거든요. 그게 바로 이번 앨범의 주된 메세지이며 모든 트랙엔 희망이라는 공통된 테마가 있습니다. 우린 팬 여러분들이 긍정적인 에너지를 받을 수 있길 바랍니다. 공식적으로 발매되지 않았지만 이미 공연한 적 있는 그 곡들로 말하자면, 팬 여러분들이 이미 알고있긴 해도 스튜디오 버전으로 듣는 건 또 새로울터라 팬분들도 기대하고 있을 거에요. 지난 투어 중에 공연한 신곡들에 호응이 좋았어요. 빨리 실제 음원을 들려드리고 싶습니다.

Q. 더 노련한 선배로써 후배들에게 해주고 싶은 조언이 있다면? 아니면 선배로부터 받은 조언 중 기억나는 게 있다면?

Taeyong: To be honest, rather than a piece of advice, the older members say and do a lot of things that help us relax and feel comfortable. For example, if we’re nervous before going on stage, they–

Taemin: “Be nervous”

Kai: We tell them to be even more nervous. Since we have to do well. [Laughs]

Taeyong: This is a good example. They make the mood fun and light while providing us with good energy.

Kai: They always do well, so there’s not much for us to say.

태용 : 솔직히 말하자면, 조언보다는 형들이 저희를 편안하게 풀어주려는 행동을 많이 했어요. 예를 들어 무대에 올라가기 전에 긴장하고 있으면 형들이-

태민 : "긴장해."

카이 : 지금보다 더 긴장하라고 하는거죠. 잘해야하기 때문에. (웃음)

태용 : 맞아요, 이런 것들이요. 형들은 분위기를 재밌게 하고 도움을 줄땐 잘 이끌어줘요.

카이 : 워낙 잘하고 있는 동생들이라 형이라고 해서 특별히 더 말할 건 없어요.

Taeyong: We have multiple music videos coming out, so I hope you all look forward to them all. We also hope everyone can continue to take care and keep healthy during these times.

태용 : 뮤직비디오가 여러개 나올 예정인데 하나하나 다 기대해주셨으면 좋겠어요. 그리고 또 이런 시기에 다들 건강 잘 챙기셨으면 좋겠습니다.
